Pinal and Tlaloc by RobinKeijzer Pinal and Tlaloc by RobinKeijzer
Pinal is a D&D character played by Robert.

Pinal is a military man from the legendary golden city in ‘the Black’. . He is sent on a mission to retrieve 12 escaped ‘sacrifices’, in order to secure the future for his people. But this mission is like looking for a needle in a haystack. So when the opportunity presents itself, Pinal uses some powerful magic to get his bearings. And so after numerous adventures Pinal finally finds his sacrifices; but then they turn out to be the lost relatives of a party member. Pinal, being a man that follows orders, does what he must do and makes the sacrifices himself. The party is confused about what to do, but eventually they are forced to kill their former friend. At the end of this slaughter Pinal is buried under a huge rock – and Tlaloc, his loyal dog, now watches over him. Till the end of his days.

I think the look of the character immediately tells the viewer what kind of character he is. The spiky bits of his armor, the color scheme, the furrowed eyebrows, the scar on his dog's face - these all communicate that this is a man who has lived a hard life, who isn't beyond doing some rather unpleasant things and who is not to be trifled with.

After reading the description, I feel that you captured the backstory of the character very well and was able to wrap up many of the aspects of the character in your portrayal. I love the color scheme and the art style overall.
What do you think?

What are your influences in your style? SkullGirls? Forgive me for the comparison if you take offense. I love the style. Just would like to know what's your influences maybe? Bruce Timm?

Love the colors, picked like a true tailor.

Hey UberTouch! I liked the work of Kinuku long before she worked on Skullgirls, so that might be in there. Bruce Timm is great too, and I hope I got influenced by him :) But It's mainly a mix of what I did before, but then with a more cartoony influence in general (flat colors instead of painting). It was probably this guy (Fabien)that  put me on that trail : fabien-m.blogspot.nl/search?up…

thanks for the comment!

Oh my goodness, I was going to say it sounded tragic....and then read your response detailing the tragedy further.....D: damnnnn
Sounds like an incredible plot though even if it may have been tragic.

Thanks DenzelAJackson! It was a bit of a gamble since it pulls the focus to his waste, but since he had a bit of an Inca background I liked to incorporate the colors there :)

It does pull to the waste, but I don't think that is a bad thing, because the viewer may look in any direction  which would lead the picture to be seen again, whichever the direction. Is that understandable? I'm not sure, haha.

Thats so tragic! Though it's nice to see people roleplaying well. That being said, fantastic character design! The armor and the dog are easily my favorite. I just finished creating a half-elf bastard child accompanied by a blink dog, so the timing is hilarious.

Thanks ScaredyLich! - and it was even more tragic if you knew the details :(  Pinal became a father figure to one of the PC's named Pella; a socially akward wizard. She got dating-advice from Pinal and thus Pella eventually found love due to this advice. But the tragic event found place during their first date. At one point Pinal was forced to attack Pella's loved one and this forced Pella to deliver the killing blow to Pinal. Pella's player even shed a tear while doing so... It was trgaic but the players really liked the twist - Oh, and Pinals Player already liked to change character, so it wasn't a cruel DM action from my side :)

And, your characters sounds cool. Blink dogs are awesome!
